Now we're called 'Life As A Schoolhouse' and we tell the stories of our life on Schoolhouse Farm. We think the name says it all now, but before Life as a Schoolhouse we were:
Turtles To Start-what does it mean? Someone asked me, here's how I responded.
And as for Turtles. That's why I started blogging. Friends had been telling me to enter the blog world and I kept thinking to myself that no one would have interest in my ramblings or life. But, one day there was a turtle in our drive way & the wonder that ensued by both my daughter and me was inspiration enough to start. It's more of a scrapbook for our own documentation--something to hold me accountable for finding the wonder in Creation, for my kids' sake...
Beyond these beginnings, The Grim family is a mom a dad and 3 sisters. We recently moved to the country and are working hard to lay the ground work for our family farm. We like living simply and challenging ourselves to live better--more responsibly. We embrace all things Permaculture, implement some Biodynamic practices and do our best to work with Creation rather than against it.
Our faith is of utmost importance to us and the traditions we have as a family are intricately woven with the scriptures. While we don't get uber intimate about the inner-workings of our faith on the internet, we welcome questions about what incorporating Hebraic traditions looks like in our lives. While all may not agree, and even though our path to observance was lead by our history in Christianity, we are truly trying to live a 'Hebrew' life--a life 'crossed over'.
We hope to raise our children to be not only great stewards, but to instill in them wonder and amazement for Creation while teaching them about the rewards of having a relationship with the Creator.

We GOT IT! Now, we're sharing about our adventures in building a farm from nothing, homeschooling, homemaking, crafting, creating, loving and growing on this blog whenever we can.
